SNX is a cryptocurrency that enables Synthetix, a decentralised finance (DeFi) protocol that allows users to gain exposure to both crypto and non-crypto assets on the blockchain–this is known as synthetic assets (Synth).

SNX is primarily used as collateral on Synthetix, where one can gain access to a Synth by depositing SNX on Synthetix.
